Who do you already know at the companies you want?
A referral often gets a resume in front of a person. Import your LinkedIn connections, see who you already know at the companies in your job tracker and wishlist, and ask them well.
How it works
Step 1
Import your connections
Download your own Connections file from LinkedIn (Settings, then Data privacy, then Get a copy of your data) and choose it on the Network page.
Step 2
See who you know where
For each company you're targeting - applied, interviewing or on your wishlist - you see the people you're connected to there, with those in a similar role first.
Step 3
Ask the right way, or reach new people
Draft a referral request in one click, or for companies where you know no one, open a LinkedIn people search and use ready-made connection notes and first messages you edit before sending.
Step 4
Keep your references straight
Track who has agreed to speak for you and which employers each person was told to expect, with a gentle warning if someone has been given to too many.
Your connections stay with you
- The file is read in your browser and kept only in your browser. It is never uploaded to us.
- A person from it reaches our servers only if you choose to save them as a contact.
- Your references list is stored in your browser only, because those are other people's details.
- You can remove the imported list at any time from the Network page.
What it isn't
- It isn't a social network - there's no feed, no chat and no way to find people through us.
- It only sees people you're already connected to on LinkedIn; for everyone else it points you to LinkedIn's own search.
- It doesn't contact anyone or send anything for you. You always read and send every message yourself.
